Scope
This policy explains how Capri Media handles personal information. Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, Capri handles personal information in accordance with the Act and the Australian Privacy Principles. Capri also uses these principles as practical standards where they are not legally required.
Information collected
Capri may collect:
- your name, email address, organisation, role and other contact details;
- project details, preferred timing, service requirements and files you choose to attach;
- photographs, video, audio, likenesses, event details and consent or release information created or supplied for a commissioned service;
- correspondence, booking details and records connected with an inquiry or commissioned service;
- administrative and transaction records where you become a client; and
- basic technical information recorded by website hosting, security and email services, such as an IP address, browser type and server logs.
Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the project and Capri has asked for it.
How information is collected and used
Information is generally collected directly from you through the website inquiry form, email, the booking calendar, project communications and photography or video production. Information may also be supplied by a commissioning organisation or event organiser where appropriate. Capri uses it to:
- respond to inquiries and recommend an appropriate service;
- prepare proposals, plan and deliver commissioned work, including creating and supplying photography and video as agreed;
- manage client communication, administration, invoicing and business records;
- operate, secure and improve the website and inquiry process; and
- meet legal, insurance and professional obligations.
Capri does not sell or rent personal information and does not use inquiry details for unrelated marketing.
Disclosure and overseas processing
Personal information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to service providers that support website hosting and security, email delivery, bookings, file storage, accounting and business administration. The current website uses Cloudflare for hosting and security, Resend for inquiry email delivery and Proton Calendar for consultation bookings.
Capri may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, regulators or authorities where required or authorised by law. Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia. Their locations can vary according to their systems. Where required, Capri takes reasonable steps to use providers that handle information consistently with applicable privacy protections.
Website data and cookies
The website and its service providers may record essential technical data needed to deliver, protect and troubleshoot the site. Capri does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioural profiling on this website. If that changes, this policy and any required notice will be updated.
Security, retention and data breaches
Capri uses reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure.
Information is retained only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the inquiry, commissioned services, business administration or legal record-keeping. When information is no longer required, Capri will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it where lawful and practicable.
If a data breach occurs, Capri will assess and respond to it, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Access, correction and complaints
You may ask to access or correct personal information Capri holds about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing info@caprimedia.com.au. Include enough detail to identify the information or issue. Capri will respond within a reasonable period and aims to respond to complaints within 30 days.
If your complaint is not resolved and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Capri’s services, website providers or legal obligations change. The current version and update date will remain available on this page.
